Well we made it through our first month! Its had its ups and downs but over all roane is doing great! We had a minor snag when we tried to stop her meds at 2 weeks post op. Thankfully our vet is wonderful and switched her to half doses. The extra time has made her much more comfortable and given her the time she needed to heal. Shes even started laying on her right side! Right now we’re working on building up the good leg. Slow and steady!
This week has been amazing. Roane is more like her old self. Shes moving better and is playful again! Lastnight after dinner and a short zoom around the back yard she brought me her squeaker for a short tug of war before she killed it!

My doggy lesson for the month is that at the end of the day you have to enjoy life. A good lay down in the grass with the ones you love for a nice belly rub is what life should be about❤❤❤
Thank you tripawd friends for being there for us!

Well we made it through our first week as a tripod! Go roane! I wont say it was easy, but all things considered we did pretty well. Roane is healing nicely, shes still a little shaky and unbalanced. We’re hopeful that when she stops taking the pain meds she will be a little more solid. Shes been moving around more and more. She even walked all the way over to the garden yesterday for a nice nap in the grass while mom and moe cat did some weeding. When we came back from the garden she insisted on trying the big stairs to the front porch! Only 5 steps but it looked like a mountain to mom! She did it with mom spotting her with the grocery bag sling. 🎉🐾🎉🐾
day 4 and our girl is doing great! Made it outside all by herself this morning. We even had a small walk around the back yard and a little sit down to survey our kingdom. she seems to be bouncing back nicely. she has no interest in her incision and she’s eating well. honestly I think she’s a little board being in the house lol have to make sure the chipmunks aren’t invading!
