Day after surgery

I knew i brought these posters home from work for a reason! Roane is relaxing in her dog fort next to the sofa šŸ˜Š

Big dog hack- these laminated posters also workes great for sliding her bed across the rug to get her closer to the door. I get them from work since we throw them out at the end of the season.

  1. Hang in there, Roane! The first two weeks are the hard part – after that itā€˜s all happy hoppinā€˜! – Sarah – mom to angel tripawd Gus (75 lb Chesapeake bay retriever… who did great after those first two weeks post amp!).

This would be my first interaction with these forums and I have to say, reading yours (which is very similar to mine, my pittie became a tri on July 2- do to osteosarcoma) made me not feel so alone. I hope to take that from this site, lots of information along with seeking out those going through what I am, WHILE I am. I can’t say enough about how inspirational the messages are to “hang in there” -just get through recovery and you WILL get your dog “back”. These keep me from crying 24/7, but this first day home with her is rough. Seeing her sleep gives me the most pleasure as I know she’s not in pain. Not wanting to eat, and the incontinence makes it additionally tough. Be sure to purchase some waterproof mattress pads. We bought a foam mattress topper to put on the floor so we can all sleep near each other.

I had a pit/lab mix years ago and she was a beautiful soul.
